What
do you
need?
How do
you get
there?
Hi, my name is Chris and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of California (#132627). I have been working with individuals and families in-person and online for 7 years.
Currently, I am providing support via Telehealth for adults and adolescents, age 13+.
You may be here on a whim. You may want to capture a more positive experience of life. You may feel like your world is unmanageable or confusing. You may be absorbing an intolerable level of pain. I meet you where you are and provide a sounding board for understanding your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I am your collaborator and partner. Through our dialogue, you will begin to better understand your instincts and motivations. The goal, over time, is to uncover deeper insights. I actively listen, constructively challenge, and collaboratively teach. I am positive, compassionate, and non-judgmental. What makes this starting point so gratifying, is that you have already begun the work. By taking this first step, you are demonstrating readiness for positive change.
I am skilled in treating:
• Depression & anxiety
• Stress management
• Grief & loss
• Emotional Regulation
• Relationship Issues
• Life transitions
• Chronic pain
• Adolescent development

Building
a positive
mindset
Once we understand the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, we can modify and change our patterns of thinking to cope with stressors. The goal is to recognize how negative thoughts impact our mental and physical health.
Creating
your story
We tell stories about ourselves and our experiences. When we separate ourselves from our problems, a new story emerges.
Finding
solutions
Drawing on positive psychology principles to build forward-thinking hope, identify strengths, and find answers.
Alleviating pain
Many of us experience chronic pain in the form of headaches, migraines, joint discomfort, or fibromyalgia. Physical pain and emotional pain are processed in the same region of the brain. By accepting and learning to live with our pain, we begin to limit the control it exerts over our lives.
Credentials:
Masters in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute.
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California.
Training:
Four years of clinical experience in high school health centers.
One year of graduate training in California public schools.
Certified in Trauma-Focused CBT.
Certified in Understanding, Assessing, Safety Planning, and Decreasing Suicidal Ideation.
How I work:
I tailor evidence-based approaches to your needs and strengths. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and change unhelpful thought patterns so that you can tackle life’s challenges with a more positive mindset. I employ Solution-Focused Therapy techniques to emphasize answers rather than dwelling on problems. I use Narrative Therapy to externalize your concerns and guide you to becoming an expert in your life. If you are in physical and psychological pain, I introduce Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help facilitate forward momentum by encouraging you to embrace rather than fight feelings or feel guilty about them.
